This Chinese restaurant was right around the corner from our hotel. Followed the yelp recommendation and got a very tasty dinner. Very friendly waiter. The soups are hot and rich in flavor. We had the hot garlic pork and lemongrass chicken. So delicious, spicy, lots of vegetables, too. Overall we can absolutely recommend to eat here!

Clean. Good service. A ton of menu items. The crispy sesame tofu was great and the kung pao prawns were tasty but average. Nice surprise in Port Angeles. Seemed family friendly.

Considering if you want Chinese food out here in the Peninsula your choices seem rather limited, at least to me. I don't know what it is, but trying to find good, decent Chinese takeout is a hard thing to come by.. and Fresh Wok actually fits the bill! I've never actually eaten inside the restaurant so this review is solely based on their delivery. I was visiting my dear friend in town and she raved and raved about Fresh Wok! She said you have to try them; they are actually GOOD! I said alright.. and we preceded to look over their menu. We ended up ordering #15(honey walnut chicken) and #16(honey walnut prawns, pretty much the same thing except the meat). Service and delivery was prompt and we were able to enjoy our food in less than 30 minutes. The food was actually delicious!! I've tried Chinese food at other places around the Peninsula and have been let down and disappointed with the exception of SoHo Asian Bistro(another gem in town). Both the Honey Walnut Chicken and Prawns were delicious. The chicken was actual sizable amount of chicken pieces and not all batter; same goes for the prawns. They were big, juicy and tender! The sauce just had the right amount of sweetness! I really love and appreciate that they deliver because my friend has limited mobility and Freak Wok is one of the places we/she can order from and not have to worry about picking up food and focus on just enjoying our company together! I'm looking forward to seeing her again and ordering from Freak Wok again as this is our tradition now every time I come into town!

I wouldn't expect Port Angeles, of all places, to have a really good Chinese restaurant - but Fresh Wok definitely qualifies. The food is very tasty and the prices are good. This is one of the best chinese restaurants that I've ever been to here in the pacific northwest, including places in Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver. The only strike against this place is that they have really screwed up wheelchair access from the parking lot into the restaurant. The curb cut into the concrete is squat in the center of a parking spot directly across from the entrance to the restaurant. If anyone parks in that spot, the ramp is blocked. There's no attempt to block off this area so that it can be used by those who need it. It's not going to affect many people but it's an odd quirk of this place. Of all the communities in Washington I'd think that a restaurant in Port Angeles / Sequim might be more aware of this sort of thing, but apparently not...

Fantastic food and huge portions. We almost passed this place up. I'm very glad we didn't.

I was skeptical of the fantastic reviews of this place. Experience has shown me that these reviews can be a bit inflated. That being said... Wow! My family and I went in expecting "good", and were so pleasantly surprised to find "excellent!" The 4 and 5 star reviews on Yelp are well deserved. Delicious food that is reasonably priced. Our future visits to the peninsula will surely include a trip to Fresh Wok.

This place is very good! Chinese food in Port Angeles seemed like a risky proposition, but the food here is fresh and tasty with lots of vegetarian options. The waitress was very courteous, and the service was very quick. My favorites were the dry string beans and the sesame tofu.

I live in Seattle, where choices for Chinese food are obviously very plentiful, and I'm a pretty tough critic of Asian food. With that said, I would highly recommend Fresh Wok. The food is delicious, the prices are very reasonable, the service was fantastic, and the portions are huge. Will definitely go back if I find myself in Port Angeles.

Got the honey glazed walnut prawns, 12.99, LG portion, tasted good. I'll try this place again. The best wan tan soup I've had in port angeles. The waitress was really sweet and extra helpful.

Great find! We have been to this restaurant several times for lunch and have ordered from the lunch menu, ordering at different visits the Crunchy Sesame Chicken, Green Bean Chicken, Veggie Chicken, Veggie Shrimp, and Chicken Chow Mein. In every case, the meal is delicious, portions are generous, price is reasonable, and service is fast and friendly. Each meal comes with choice of soup, choice of steamed or fried rice, and choice of wonton or egg roll on the side. Hot tea is always included at no extra charge. We've never encountered huge crowds here, but we believe this restaurant to be the best Chinese restaurant in the area. This is our go-to favorite for whenever we eat out or have out-of-town guests. Great food and great value.

July 2013 A mate raved bout this place the minute we arrived in Port Angeles, WA. I've lived in NYC, SF, HI, and LA. Am quite particular with asian dishes, especially chinese. I tend to compare them with the spots I've dined-in in major cities where I've lived. Am a bit of an Asian food snob. I was quite a bit hessitant in dining here, sincerely. *hahaha* Moving on ... Dined here 6 times during our holiday. ^_^ The dishes were affordable, and can be enjoyed by two. They deliver! *hurrah* Love their salt and pepper calimari. They are easy to find, and plenty space for car park. The service was warm, prompt, and consistent ... Yes! All 6 different days we dined-in. Boba/Bubble Tea was yummy! Perhaps a 3-5 more minutes cooking the tapioca pearls ... other than that ... it was a nice treat to punctuate the main course. Will definitely dine here again!

I did not expect a decent Chinese food in this small town near the national park. We ordered Chow Mein, steam dumpling and Walnut Prawn, which were all very good.

BEST Hot and Sour Soup EVER. I bullied my daughter into giving me the rest of hers so I could have more. Generous portions. We had orange chicken and sesame chicken which were both very good - all fresh meat, not nasty little unidentifiable chunks. Lightly deep fried ... perfect.

I LOVE Fresh wok!! they are very consistent. The food is getting better and better!!! Unlike most of the Asian restaurants here in town that open. Their food is flavorful, their service is WONDERFUL! Great job guys!

Recommended by a local. Food was delicious, fresh, service excellent. Don't be fooled by the plain brown wrapper. This is the best Chinese in P.A..

Not sure if today was an off day for the cook, other reviews raved about the food. Our lunch was not good. The bbq pork tasted off, sauces were definitely out of a can. No seasoning on any of the dishes. The soups were good and service was ok.

The other yelpers were right. This place turned out to be quite good. Granted the building gave us reason to hesitate but I'm glad we tried it. We both had combination plates and were quite pleased. The portions were generous and the prices fair. Each food item was fresh and very tasty. The Mongolian beef could of been a little bit more tender but the flavor made up for it. The sweet and sour items were very tender. Service was excellent and wait staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

Wife and I dropped in for dinner. This is by far some of the best Chinese food we've ever had, and we grew up in San Francisco. We had the hot sour soup, pot stickers, house chow mien, and chef's special garlic seafood combination. One word, AMAZING! Hot, fresh, and great portion size. We were stuffed but had to eat every last bit because it was so very good. Restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. Service is friendly and attentive. They've been there less than a year and hopefully word will spread fast that they serve some if the best Chinese food on the Olympic Peninsula. Thanks for an amazing dining experience at very reasonable prices.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
